If all goes well, no one watching this today will go to prison. Countries like Norway and Austria have some top-of-the-line prisons that offer the inmates some more-than-basic creature comforts, no matter the crime.

But if you’re doing time somewhere like the United States, Russia, or Venezuela then you’re in for one heck of a ride because more often than not prison is a nasty place. So then it should come as no surprise that people have been trying to bust out of the joint since the dawn of time.

And while most attempts fail horrifically and earn the prisoners some pretty harsh backlash, some people actually managed to get out! But whether or not that really made it on the other side is a totally different story.
